Snap Trak Technical Information

PERFORMANCE

• Provides 1" of deflection in a non-rated assembly
• Provides up to 5/8" deflection in a fire rated assembly. Movement is dependent on type of fire caulk or fire spray used.
• Up to 2" of deflection is possible by simply extending the vertical legs of Snap Trak

CODE COMPLIANCE

• Snap Trak meets the requirements of all standard building codes; UBC, BOCA, SBCCI and the new IBC code
• Approved for use with most fire caulk and fire spray manufacturers
• UL approved for use with multiple seismic (Class III) tested head-of-wall dynamic joints

SPECIFICATIONS

• Fabricated in 24, 20 and 16 gauge galvanized steel
• Manufactured in 10' lengths
• Available in the following stud sizes: 1-5/8", 2-1/2", 3-1/2", 3-5/8", 4", 6" and 8"

INSTALLATION

• Snap Trak is a specially designed deep leg track with clips punched into its sides spaced 8" o.c.
• Clips engage inside flange of a steel stud when stud is "snapped" in place
• Automatic layout at 16" or 24" o.c.
• Positive attachment is achieved without the need for screws
• Off layout studs are easily handled with Posi Clips (See Details)
• Snap Trak can also be used as a floor runner
